Instrumental Ensembles

Beginning Band
Beginning Band offers instrumental ensemble experience at a beginning instructional level.
The instruments taught are flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone and percussion.

Jazz Ensemble
Jazz Ensemble is designed as a supplemental ensemble for Upper Village students.
This class will serve as an introduction to the rich history of jazz music.
Emphasis will be placed on not just performance technique, but also basic improvisational skills and musicianship.
Cadet Band
Cadet Band is the second level ensemble of the band program at Woodland.

In Cadet Band, students advance their musicianship, apply music theory to instrumental literature, and build on technical skills that were developed in Beginning Band.
Dark Matter Percussion Ensemble
The Dark Matter Percussion Ensemble utilizes traditional and nontraditional percussion instrumentation.
18 55-gallon soap drums, trash cans, metallic objects , traditional percussion instruments, sound creation devices, and choreography are utilized to produce uniquely expressive performances.
Eagle Band
The Eagle Band is Woodland's advanced performing instrumental ensemble at Woodland.
Instruction concentrates on advanced technical and expressive skills in an ensemble-focused setting.
